Testimonials

I truly felt like he cared about my goals and was a true partner in my success.

New! April 22, 2008

Rob agreed to assist me in the Gold’s Body Transformation Challenge because I was in a rut in my current training program and my weight had been at a plateau for months. Rob set me up on an aggressive weight training, cardio and nutrition program which challenged me both physically and mentally. In 13 weeks on Rob’s program, I have lost a total of 36 lbs and over 7″ from my waist. I decreased my BMI % by 6% and was seeing definition and tone that I had never seen before in my body.

Rob was always there for my questions or simply to over support. I truly felt like he cared about my goals and was a true partner in my success. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for an effective personal trainer who consistently produces results. Rob is awesome!!!

IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR A GREAT TRAINER IN WASHINGTON, D.C., LOOK NO FURTHER THAN R.K. BODIES, THE ULTIMATE TRAINING EXPERIENCE WITH ROB KREIDER!

In the Spring of 2003, I contacted Rob Kreider to see if he might take me on as a client. It took a few weeks before he was able to find a mutually convenient time slot. When we first met on a rainy, Tuesday afternoon, he may have wondered what he had gotten himself into. Training a 56-year old who at the starting point hit about 250 on the scale who needed to be taught how to lift, but who was an active rower. Initially, we set mutually agreeable and achievable goals. We spent the next 18-months doing a full body circuit twice weekly when I trained with Rob. As Rob got to know me, he realized how serious I was about changing my appearance and left me responsible for my own cardio and ab training. Late spring, summer and early fall, I can be found on the Potomac River rowing with Alexandria Community Rowing three times a week at 0530 (during the off-season I do an hour on a Concept II Rowing Machine 5x a week and about a 30-minutes of abs afterwards).

The extra pounds began to vanish. And then more, and the more they vanished the harder I continued to work out either in the morning or with Rob. After about a year I was wearing suits that I hadn’t worn in years and was having my wardrobe altered.

Rob changed my weight training program to a High Intensity Training Format in early 2005 that consists of a light warmup set followed by a pair of work sets at a more challenging level, and then follow those frequently with drop sets to failure or supersets. He is very good about challenging me to get the most out of every movement and to be certain that my form is correct. He will assist when necessary, but is a real stickler for good form. We usually divide the body into back, chest and either tris or bis one day, and legs and shoulders and the arm muscle that was not trained on the first day of the week on the second.

Working out regularly with Rob has given me the confidence to seek out other people to train with while traveling on business. I began that first session with Rob, impressed, but not intimidated by his size. Having been probably near 300 pounds ten years ago, I am determined not to go back to that level, nor to a size 54 suit jacket. Training with Rob, a nationally competitive bodybuilder, has given me the confidence to train with well known bodybuilders such as Sagi Kalev in Dallas, J.P. Fux in Palm Springs, Gennaro Ferra in New York City and Hans Hoeller in Fullerton, California among others. Each one of them has given me a little bit more information about myself and how to continue to reach my personal goals.

In the spring of 2005, I had a first appointment with a neurologist because of some movement difficulties with my right arm. He quickly and efficiently tested me and then began to use words no one ever wants to have applied to them: degenerative, incurable, etc. And then he used the “P” word: “You have the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease,” he said. My wife could not be with me that morning. When I arrived at Definitions, the Georgetown Personal Training Studio where Rob trains clients late that afternoon, it was as though a cloud had lifted. After I told him about the diagnosis, his response was, “You’re not going to let that stop you, are you?” We’ll just change the training program to make the neurological pathways work harder! And that’s what we have done over the last two and one-half years. I’ve since learned that vigorous physical exercise in the male in particular can help the brain produce the chemical that it doesn’t produce as much as it should. Rob has become much more than just a personal trainer in my life but a real friend and confidant.

As we conversed that first training session, I found someone who is safety conscious, comprehensive in his approach with a good blend of goal setting and nutritional information. Although he is a bodybuilder, he recognizes that not all of his clients can make that as a goal and works with each of us for our own goals.

A few days before New Years in 2008, I haven’t put on weight over the holidays and have been below 200 for a little over a year. I am now down to 195 on a 6′3″ frame, regularly wearing my wedding suit from 1978 with the vest let out in the chest. My suit size has gone from a 54XL to a 44L.

Rob has played an integral role in my transformation by inspiring, teaching and encouraging me. In the times I’ve trained with him, he has always been in shape, never bloated and his modesty and humor help an hour with him speed by. He’s been beside me in the tough days of preparing for a national bodybuilding competition. I have to be serious about training with Rob as Definitions is a bus or subway and bus ride from my office in the Penn Quarter of Washington to Georgetown, and then an hour home to Alexandria, Virginia afterwards via subway and bus, or a mile uphill walk!

From 220 pounds at the end of February to 180 pounds in mid-June…

As a testament to Rob’s personal training skills, I went from 220 pounds at the end of February to 180 pounds in mid-June. My percent body fat went from about 12-15% down to 6-7%. On June 9th, I took first place in my age category in the East Coast bodybuilding contest and a third in my weight category, beating out a couple of guys 15+ years younger than me (should have taken second, missed it by one point). Mext year: going for Nationals in Pittsburgh in July.

Rob Kreider IS different…

Rob Kreider’s training style is what all other personal trainers should be measured against. To truly appreciate the value of Rob’s knowledge and ability, first let me describe many personal trainers in the DC area. During the twenty years that I have been working out, I have studied and continue to perform proper weight lifting form to reach my goals. In that time, have seen many men and women call themselves personal trainers without any knowledge of weight training form, fitness, gym etiquette, or safety. Those kind of trainers only appeal to their client’s naiveté, ego and perhaps even loneliness through improper risky form, low amount of actual training, and talk talk talk. I’ve noticed clients working with the same trainers for years and their bodies never changed, clients being told to do trainer made “exercises” that WILL cause injury, and clients spending only 20% of their time actually working out. With these types of trainers available, there was no way that they would ever train, teach, inspire or motivate me to reach MY goals — therefore in my mind — not worth a penny. Rob Kreider IS different.

Rob Kreider respects the client and their knowledge. Prior to actually developing a training strategy, he first asks the client for their goals. He actually listens and is interested in aiding every client meet their goals, not his particular or any other trainer’s goal. Whether a man or a woman is looking for better fitness or, someone like myself wanting to add additional muscle mass, Rob’s knowledge and implementation of exercise programs are actually custom organized to each person’s ability, current state of fitness, and goals. During the training, Rob is extremely attentive to the client’s safety and abilities. He is not there to look around the gym, instead, his attention is concentrating on the client and exercise. He will teach, train, correct form, etc. to ensure the client gains the most benefit from the exercise. It is through those exercises, that the clients actually do reach their goals. How many other trainers can do that?

His inspiration is infectious. Everyone that trains with him, wants to do more. Such as with me trying to add additional muscle mass, I will actually press, lift, squat, etc., more weight than I would ever attempt on my own. I actually feel safe lifting heavier weight knowing that he is spotting me.

He is one of the very few people I have met in all the gyms I trained at, that I trust to spot me with the heavier weight. While training, somehow he just knows even before I do when the muscle will completely fatigue to failure. Similarly, he will also get me to push out those extra reps needed for me to build that additional muscle mass.

Through out the years of training, I have reached several plateaus where my strength levels off and I am no longer continuing to grow and adding the muscle mass that I strive for. When I do level off, I go to Rob so that he can analyze my work-out programs and help me break through those plateaus. He is always there to help me reach my full potential.

Rob Kreider’s personal training sets the standard for excellence that many other trainers know that they will never reach. After training with Rob, you will notice that there is little time for the talk talk talk like the other trainers and you will actually get the best work-outs you’ll ever have.

Rob Kreider is a real professional…

After a year of working out and seeing little gain in body mass, I came to Rob. My goal is to add muscle mass, and hopefully step on-stage in a bodybuilding contest one day! Rob has taught me proper weight lifting technique and given me a H. I. T. routine that will enable me to add the muscle size and strength that I need to achieve my bodybuilding goals. He is also designing a personalized diet that will enable me to pack on mass. Rob doesn’t allow you to slack in your training. Which is what everyone needs to achieve their goals. Follow the program that he designs for you and you will get results. Rob Kreider is a real professional who I highly recommend to those who wish to change their bodies!

You won’t find a better and more knowledgeable trainer

You won’t find a better and more knowledgeable trainer than “The Master,” Rob Kreider. After several years of working out with other trainers — including a former title winning bodybuilder and another certified personal trainer — I came to Rob with what I thought was a great deal of experience and determination. I quickly discovered how much more I had to learn, and because of Rob, I have a renewed commitment to training that will last a lifetime. He demonstrates a concern about and interest in his clients that goes far beyond a business relationship, yet he is always professional and focused during training sessions. Rob not only asks you what your goals are, he listens…and then designs a customized program that gets you beyond the results you want. He has helped me overcome past injuries to reach new record lifts and has helped me understand the mind body connection so crucial to successful training. I give all the credit to Rob and superior knowledge of training methods, nutrition and safe, effective supplements for the 15 lb. of new lean muscle mass and 20 lb. less body fat I achieved in the first year of working with him. Not a bad start for a 48 year old former fat guy. Of course, he tells me I deserve the credit, because of all the work in the gym. But without the inspiration and focus that Rob has provided, I wouldn’t have realized the level of self-confidence nor received the many positive remarks about my new body that have come steadily in the past few months. If you are serious about training, then Rob is your man. Make the commitment to serious training and Rob Kreider will stick with you every step of the way as the most positive influence you could ask for.

Give this guy a try…

What can I say about Rob Kreider. Rob was recommended to me by a close friend and I must say I was amazed by his vast amount of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm. I was experiencing major gym “burnout” when I started training with him a short time ago. I was spending 2-2 1/2 hours 6 days a week in the gym and not achieving the results that I so desperately desired (I’ve been training approximately 17 years). After only one session with Rob I was so motivated and somewhat concerned, he had recommended reducing my time in the gym (heaven forbid!!!!), that I immediately began to change my diet. I was so afraid of gaining weight from cutting down my gym time, especially my cardio, that I figured I better get serious or else. Within a few short weeks, probably even less than that, my sleep patterns changed, I had more energy, felt much tighter and had more free time to enjoy literally living for something besides my next gym session. I must admit that I am quite the gym junkie but now I’m seeing the results all thanks to Rob’s direction in nutrition and training. I can’t begin to convey how surprised I was at his knowledge of training "traditional female" problem areas (hips, glutes, hamstrings). I had hired personal trainers in the past (a female and several males two of which had professional experience as strength coaches for professional sports teams) and none of them displayed Rob’s knowledge of "kicking the female butt" into shape. Most trainers focus on traditional glute exercises such as squats & leg press but Rob has me training for the results I want (no, I’m not bulky either, believe me when I say, he will get you TIGHT & TONED!) and customized workouts to suit my goals. The trainers in my gym train everyone, male or female, regardless of their goals, the same way! I highly recommend anyone, particularly you ladies out there, who are SERIOUSLY interested in achieving the body of your dreams, to give this guy a try!!!! You will not be disappointed.

You’ll work hard with him, but you’ll have a great time doing it…

When I first started training with Rob about four months ago, I mentioned that my ultimate goal was to add 30 pounds of muscle in a six-month period… which I thought unrealistic, but something to strive for. Without flinching, Rob said “follow my advice and I’ll get you there.” Now, with Rob’s expertise and motivation, I expect not only to meet that lofty goal but to surpass it, and continue striving for new targets in future months

You’re not going to meet a greater person – completely motivational but not overbearing, very passionate and inspirational about his work, modest even with his numerous successes and talents, and incredibly friendly and funny. You’ll work hard with him, but you’ll have a great time doing it.

It’s a simple as this — Rob is one of the premier trainers anywhere, not only in the Washington D.C. area. I’m also proud to call him a good friend.

Whether you’re someone who’s just starting to consider an exercise regiment or an experienced athlete with years of muscle training, you can’t go wrong with “Dr. Kreider”.

Rob you are definitely “THE MAN!”…

I have been a “non-competitive” bodybuilder for 14 years. The exhilaration of a muscular pump has always been my motivation to get through those days ; when you didn’t even feel like draggin’ your self to the gym. The older I got, the more of life’s responsibilities presented themselves. ; I found myself fading from the thrill and wasting away into a set pattern of complete laziness. I’ve always told myself that I would never be a parent who was described as being “fat”, “lazy”, etc… however that is what I become. I was without motivation, without a vision of what my true potential was and still can be. Alas, I came across a personal training site introducing me to Rob Kreider. was very skeptical in the beginning for I have always been a self taught trainer developing my own style and technique. I was always confident of my foundation of knowledge regarding weight training, nutrition, supplementation, etc… but with any good book that has been lying on the shelf for a few years, it needs to be dusted off and revisited to refresh your memory. I took a chance by calling upon Rob for his expertise and knowledge; The best “chance” I ever took! Rob and I had set up a personal interview/training session via phone consultation. Preparations prior to this interview was gathered in respect to my goals, current training regimen, supplements, etc. Rob’s personal and professional touch helped me to regain my motivation and inspired me once again to find that exhilaration. This summer I have made a drastic change in my personal appearance as well as my emotional presentation. I’ve started back with my training weighing 212 — I’m currently 230! The HIT program designed by Rob to my needs has been more than unbelievable. I’m in the gym less and producing more gains than I did when I was @ the peak of my training. I’m now preparing to be a “competitive”; bodybuilder.

When I’m asked about my current training techniques and philosophies, I direct people to this site. Rob you are definitely the “Man” — Everybody has their success in life — You have found yours and I’m grateful that you are able to share it with others. On behalf of me and my family (especially my kids) — THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He knows who I am…

When I read a testimonial about someone professionalism and style, especially a personal trainer, I often wonder about the person behind the words. How can I believe what he or she has to say? So quickly, here is my introduction.

I went to the US Naval Academy. During my time there I was in a training accident. Though not permanently injured, I lost my commission from it. That was my dream, my life long goal and I lost it. I went on to finish school and moved up to Washington, DC.

During that time, I felt in a constant struggle to find a new path for my life, and that frustration took a toll on my body. I gained a lot of weight. I went from a lean 31″waist at the Naval Academy to a 39″waist. In 1998, I decided enough was enough and I wanted to lose the weight. I knew it would be hard so I joined a local gym and sought a personal trainer thinking this would get me back to where I once was. Though the trainer looked good, and I kept thinking, yeah he will help to look like him, I felt more like a number than a name. He would miss or cancel appointments without so much as an apology, and one time he even called me the wrong name during my work out! Needless to say, my results were minimal.

Then one day I found Rob Kreider’s web site, call it luck or providence, either would be appropriate. When I saw Rob’s size I was totally intimidated, but I could tell at least this guy knew what he was talking about and the more I read the more I saw just how committed Rob was to his profession. So I met him, and immediately felt that he was committed to supporting me in my commitment to myself.

As I write this, (August 9, 1999), it has been almost three months since Rob and I started working out together. So far I have lost 18lbs of fat, gained 12 lbs. of muscle and lost 9% body fat. I told Rob my goal is to go beyond where I was at the Academy. I am not there yet but I know I will be sooner because of Rob.

Rob’s style can be equated to that of your favorite coach or professor in high school or college, or even your best friend — the one that believed in you no matter what happened, who took a stand for you and pushed you to your limits, supported you, and invited you to grow beyond what you thought possible. Rob is not a drill instructor, he is a motivator. He can’t force you to do anything. What he can do is keep your motivation high and your focus centered on transforming your life, not just in the gym, but 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Now when I go out to eat, I think of Rob. I go to a bar, I think of Rob. I do my cardio, and more cardio, and again I think of Rob. Not of the man, but the motivation he gives me to succeed, to be the best I can be. His belief in me is with me no matter where I go and I feel that I am accountable to him as much as he is accountable to me.

When I go in for my sessions with Rob, he knows from the moment I enter what kind of day I have had at work. He knows who I am. Rob knows how to provide the right amount of motivation to get me to perform at my best, even when I don’t feel like being there.

Finally, I want to speak of Rob Kreider, the person. Two weeks ago, my aunt died, and I called Rob to tell him I had to cancel our Saturday workout to attend her funeral out of town. Rob spent 30 minutes talking to me, reminding me of my focus, providing the support I needed when he could tell I was at a absolute low. That’s the kind of man Rob is…he is my coach and my friend.

Remember that trainer I had at my old gym, who canceled on me and couldn’t remember my name? Well Rob is the absolute opposite. He understands when work related or personal emergencies arise and you have to cancel, he just reminds you of your cardio commitment and works to find a time to reschedule the missed workout. One time Rob and I had a miscommunication on the appointment time of my training session, and he didn’t show up. (I still think to this this day I was the one at fault) but Rob took the hit on that misunderstanding and did not charge me for my next session! Why do I mention that? Because that to me is the absolute concrete proof that shows you that to Rob Kreider, this isn’t about the money, its about the person, its about your commitment to yourself, and his commitment to you. Personal training isn’t cheap, but most things in life that are worth it aren’t either. I look on my training as an investment in myself —.which is pretty appropriate, because Rob Kreider has made an investment of his time, dedication, support and experience in me and I am the better man for it

— C. D., August 1999

If you live in the DC, I’d definitely encourage you to give Rob a try…

I have been working out for a number of years — sometimes diligently, sometimes not so — but always with little to show for the time spent in the gym, the supplement consumed, and the dieting endured. I’ve subscribed to various magazines, read the articles, tried to implement what I read, but still achieved the same thing, not much. Out of desperation I began searching the Web for information, trying to learn what I was doing wrong. Eventually, I came across Rob’s web site. I liked the way it was set up, I read what he had to say about the magazines and their impacts, and what he has learned. I thought this guy might have something to say. Fortunately, I have the opportunity to travel to DC for business with some regularity. I figured I could give him a try and, if not satisfied, there was no obligation. I contacted Rob by e-mail and eventually had my first training session with him in late July 1999. It was an excellent workout — biceps and triceps — which stayed with me for the remainder of the week. Rob was quite knowledgeable, not egotistical, and obviously practiced what he preached. More often than not, one encounters “personal trainers” who make you question what type of training they had in mind. The training session was well paced, informative and intense. In August I had the opportunity to have two more training sessions, on these occasions we covered chest, back, legs (awesome workout), shoulders, and abs. In addition, we spent time discussing nutrition and cardio. I found that Rob’s training both in the gym and in the classroom had provided him with an excellent base from which to teach others. After these three sessions, I began approaching my workouts with a renewed motivation and determination. After three weeks of diligently following what I had learned from Rob, the tape measure has told me that there are some noticeable results — albeit small — they are going in the right direction. I’m actually looking forward to my next business trip to DC — that says a lot-because I plan to incorporate a few more sessions with Rob. When he asked me to write a little bit about my experience, I must admit that I was hesitant to endorse someone when I was unsure of what results would be achieved. I believe that what I have learned has been very useful. However, I hope to write a better testimonial in a few months when I have more results to show. If you live in the DC, I’d definitely encourage you to give Rob a try. If you happen through DC — on business or pleasure — definitely try to have a training session with him.

— A. J. D., August 1999

Rob is an excellent trainer and has a fantastic personality…

In regards to my goals with Rob, I went to him in order to gain strength and muscle mass. Rob was really great in explaining how results could be achieved, the program/philosophy he followed regarding strength training, and was realistic about what it would take for me to achieve my goals.

In regards to results, it was about a month after working with him 3 times a week that I really noticed mass starting. However, I definitely noticed “pain” during that first month, but pain in a good sense as it was from sore muscles which I hadn’t used in years and which were in pain as a result of exercise and growing.

Rob gave me an excellent foundation that I was able to use what he had taught me during my lessons so that when I traveled or unable to meet with him I was able to keep up my workout, which I’ve done quite well and have continued to grow in size. Rob was also very good to give me pointers on what to do while away, additional little exercises to vary my routine, etc.

Rob is an excellent trainer and has a fantastic personality. I always have enjoyed each session with him, as he forces you to work to your maximum potential. Due to my current travel schedule I haven’t had the chance to work out with him for a month or so and probably won’t get back to formal training with him again until the fall. However, what he has taught me and the foundation that he laid allows me to maintain the basics which he and I started and from which I’m able to continue to achieve the goals I’ve set for myself. I highly recommend Rob and feel that if you listen to him and follow his methodology, you’ll get the results you want

ROB KREIDER IS FOR REAL!!

ROB KREIDER IS FOR REAL!! I saw Rob in the gym while he was working out and wondered, what was his secret to his success. We sat down and talked about training philosophies, his versus what I thought I knew about training. I mentioned a few of my goals and the next words I hear from Rob were: “If you trust me, I can help you! But you have to trust me and be willing to work hard.” He set up a schedule where we met twice a week for (1) month. In that time, the workouts lasted no longer than 45-50 minutes. At the end of that month, I was able to build up my strength and put on 2.5 lbs. of muscle. I call Rob the “DR.", because he has the prescription not just for building muscle but for SUCCESS. If you don’t believe me, just give “Dr. Kreider” a call / email.

— Vic Keenan (Fellow Training Partner), June 1999

Rob’s style of training is totally different than any you’ve probably done before.

Rob’s style of training is totally different than any you’ve probably done before. Allows you to do the minimum number of sets with the maximum intensity. You feel yourself getting stronger, and with that comes growth… it’s hard to explain unless you actually go through the process, but it does work. Also, robs a hell of a motivator and makes you get that extra rep and fatigue the muscle to failure. I noticed a lot of growth. I’m sure you’ve heard stories about switching up your training routine to shock the muscle to grow. The HIT definitely does that. Of course, keep in mind that training isn’t the only thing that helps you grow, have to make sure you eat enough and properly…kind of a total concept.

— S. M., June 1999

One of the best things about Rob, for me, is his openness to feedback, questions, etc.

I’ve enjoyed seeing Rob since last autumn. My goals going in were getting back into working out after a hand injury about 2 or 3 years ago which had gotten me out of the routine of doing anything more than cardio. Within about 2-3 months I felt like I was back in the “groove.” He’s also helped me with some dieting scenarios that have helped me lower my body fat while not sacrificing any gains. As for my ability to use his program solo, I have to admit that I’ve never been very good on my own in the gym with weights. That said, however, I’ve been able to pick up the slack when I’ve been on holiday or on a business trip away — which is an accomplishment for me. That’s not to say we’ve been doing the same exact thing all the way through — he’s been very good at keeping some variety and diversity in the work outs.

One of the best things about Rob, for me, is his openness to feedback, questions, etc. I’ve worked with 2 trainers in the past, and my experience before was that there was a tendency for them to think “I’m the trainer, I know best and you’re doing it my way.” Rob has been very amenable to my concerns and interest and has worked with me on them and tailored things to my specific needs. He’s very open to the client’s input, but still makes sure you’re more than sufficiently challenged.

No matter how much you think you know, there’s always more to learn.

I’ve been a self taught, “self trainer” for some time now and for the most part have been happy with my progress in bodybuilding. I’ve learned quite a bit about training, diet and supplementation, I’ve even competed in a bodybuilding contest. By these statements I’m mean to let you know that I consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to my body and what works.

Well, recently I was having problems gaining size or increasing my poundages. I briefly mentioned this to Rob Kreider and he made one simple suggestion that may have never occurred to me. After following his advice, my squats increased by 90lbs. in just a two weeks!! Needless to say I was quite pleasantly surprised, and learned one very important fact: No matter how much you think you know, there’s always more to learn.

Rob is a great trainer with great insight into an individuals needs, goals, and strengths. He uses this insight to help his clients achieve their personal bests.

— Pete Roach (The initial creator of Rob Kreider’s web site), August 1997 , FreeLance / LAN Administrator

Thank you…

Thank you for being my personal trainer. The strength gains that you helped me achieve have been faster and better than I ever imagined. Thanks to your extensive knowledge of fitness and nutrition, you brought my body fat down to 15% (from 20%) while simultaneously adding over 25 pounds of muscle in just one year! I went from a coat size of 40 to 50. That’s big especially for a beanpole 6-footer who started out at 160 pounds!!

— T. H., September 1996 Manager @ BDM International

I can live life my way again!

Due to my condition, fibromyalgia, I thought it was impossible for me to enjoy the fruits of weight training. That was before I met you!!! Thank you for designing a special routine for me considering my condition. I feel I can do things I was afraid to attempt to do, but with my increased strength, I can live life “my way: again!”

— Celia Jean Weideman, Ph.D., June 1996

Thanks to his no attitude training style and coaching spirit, I have a new body…

Rob’s knowledgeable expertise and guidance in the field of intensity training has allowed me to make significant and noticeable gains in the past 3 months. It became clear to me very early in my training experience with Rob that no supplement can replace hard, intense, and technically correct training. I intended to utilize Rob’s expertise for just a few sessions to revamp my training routine and then go it solo. However, I found that making serious gains with Rob’s continued guidance was well worth every penny! Rob truly works as a team with his clients to assure gains. He’s not there to just collect a fee. He wants to see me make gains as much as or sometimes for than I do! Thanks to his “no attitude” training style and coaching spirit, I have a new body that continues to make gains in just 3 months time! Thanks Rob!

— M. D., April 1996

A client wrote me the following letter, I’d like share it with everyone. Maybe it can be as inspirational to you as it was me. Rob

I want you to know that you have completely altered the way I look at bodybuilding. It has been a while since I was around Bodybuilders, almost 10 years in fact, & things have changed a lot since then. some things have gotten much better--supplementation is really making strides, Bodybuilders are getting bigger & better, personal training has created a niche industry, the net has given promising competitors an alternative to TV & magazine exposure, some people who once had no awareness of the sport & bodybuilding way of life are starting to value it more. (as you know, there are problems as well, but in this letter I want to focus on the positives.) We are on the cusp of a new millennium, & part of the transition is a new array of possibilities for individuals who have the drive & ambition to make it in the gym & competitive world of bodybuilding. opportunities are there--but you have to create your own demand, get out there & show people what you have & what you’re willing to do to accomplish your goals. you have to be open to others, look for opportunities where they present themselves, & take them as far as you can as long as you can. you’re doing this, Rob. the trick is to keep doing it--not give up, set realistic goals that still stretch your limits, surround yourself with the right people, & then push & push & push for your dream. “No” is not an acceptable alternative when you’re looking to establish a name."

After pursuing bodybuilding for seven years, I took a long break during the summer of 2002. When I resumed weight training in late fall, my goal was to be even bigger than I was before. After several weeks of training, I made some modest gains but not nearly enough to where I wanted to be, and at this point I began looking to incorporate some changes into my program. A coworker recommended I get in touch with Rob Kreider. I was extremely skeptical at first, since I’ve talked with some trainers in the past that knew far less than I did about bodybuilding and weightlifting and some that would just reiterate a different exercise every week. I needed to find an accomplished professional that really knew what they were talking about - one with a lot more knowledge and experience. Someone to bring a whole new insight to my own experiences. I checked out Rob’s web site and researched his accomplishments. The guy has won numerous contests and is certified by multiple training associations. My attitude towards meeting up with Rob was turning for the better, and I was encouraged that he could work with me towards getting to that next level.

I met up with Rob back in Early December of ’02, designing a complete training and diet routine. The facts now speak for themselves - in just 4 months I have gained 25 lbs of weight and kept my body-fat percentage down. At this point in time, I am extremely satisfied with Rob’s advice and program. I highly doubt I would be at the size I am today with out his guidance. His knowledge about training and nutrition far exceeds anyone that I have spoken to in the past. I only wish I had met up with him earlier! In the past, I wasted so much money on tons of supplements that gave me little or no gains. Now that I have adjusted the diet and supplements, I won’t be wasting my time. I look forward to continuing to work with Rob and I am confident that I will continue to increase in size and strength. I would recommend Rob Kreider to anyone that is serious about getting in shape or wanting to kick up their training a few notches.

Thank you Rob for your training advice. Everything you have suggested has worked beautifully. Remember, my goal was to be the strongest player on my High School Football team as a sophomore. I wanted to gain 20 lbs of muscle before the 2003 season and lift over 1000 lbs in the three required lifts, i.e. bench, squat, and clean. Last season, the strongest player, a senior (who received a full football scholarship to a Division 1 school) lifted 970 lbs. Well, its only April and I weigh 220 lbs, a 20 lb gain, and have lifted well over my 1000 lb goal. I can’t thank you enough for your advice. My new goal is to gain another 10lbs by the start of the season in August and lift over 1100 lbs. With your advice and more hard work, I know I can achieve my goal. I couldn’t have done it with out you?

The best trainer I have ever had…

Rob Kreider is the best trainer I have ever had. He knows the human body well and he is highly dedicated to his clients. His program is simple and easy if you are committed. I bought this costume for dancing from the sponsor of a 30 something former world champion. It helped me win in a ballroom dance competition, but without Rob’s training I would not even have considered trying this costume on at my age.

Rob Kreider is your man…

If you need a highly competent, professional and, most of all effective personal trainer, Rob Kreider is your man. Coming off my ninth knee surgery four months ago I was very frustrated with the lack of progress I was making with my very expensive physical therapist. I knew that after several surgeries on both knees I needed to seriously rebuild my quads to provide strength and stability to my knees, but the physical therapy sessions were going nowhere, and I had constant joint pain. I had never used a personal trainer before, but decided to explore that possibility. I got Rob’s name from friends at my gym, checked his web site and set up an appointment. We went over my history and my goals, and Rob had me go through some exercises to determine my limitations, range of motion, and what my knees could and could not tolerate in terms of different stresses. We then started a program that has resulted in huge improvement. Working the entire leg (quads, hamstrings, calves) I have seen marked and visible development in my legs, in size, strength and definition. Most importantly, with no joint pain. I highly recommend Rob. He is an athlete himself, and just looking at him you suspect he must know what he’s talking about. And he does. He combines knowledge with the right amount of patience and drive to make you better.

He’ll rock ya into shape!

While living in Alexandria, VA I came to a point in my life when I decided I needed to hire a trainer. I am knowledgeable in the area of physical fitness, as I was taught the proper way to lift weights, etc. by my coach in High School. I was always thin and in shape, but by the age of 26 things started to change with my metabolism. So here I was 30 and overweight and needing and wanting to make major changes in my physique, so I might get back to the way I always looked. I looked for a trainer online and found Rob. We exchanged a few phone calls discussing what I was looking for in a trainer and then we met in Georgetown for our first session. I was already a member of Gold’s in Annandale/Alexandria and full swing on the Atkins program. Rob was totally on board with my diet and exercise regime already. I expressed that I need someone to be my will power and do all my thinking for me... this is what was holding me back from getting a timely routine done by myself at Gold’s… never mind all the other people and the uncomfortable pressure you feel when you are there. So Rob was my will power, and my coach 3 hours a week… and even the other 5 when Rob told me to walk or do some type of cardio at Gold’s on my own… I didn’t want to let him down, nor myself.

I enjoyed seeing Rob every time we had a session… he always had a smile on his face, he always had something nice to say or something interested to discuss, he never made me feel uncomfortable, and he pushed me like I asked him to.

Anyway, I worked out with Rob for 8 weeks. Every time I left a session I didn’t know how the heck I was gonna drive my car home, he pushed me that much. It made all the difference in the world! Between the 5 days per week of cardio, the Atkins diet, and 3 times per week with Rob, in 8 weeks I managed to lose 5 dress sizes. I remember my last session… everyone said congrats to me on a job well done and couldn’t believe the changes I had made in such a short amount of time, and they told me to keep up the hard work. I owe it all to Rob. My Will Power, My Trainer.

I have had other trainers since I have moved away, but none compare and the results were so dramatically better with Rob! Rob… I wish you were in Jax man… my post pregnancy body needs you! Anyway… I just wanted you to know how great of an experience it was to work with you and your professionalism forever changed my view and expectations in a personal trainer… honestly I don’t want another trainer than you! So if you're looking to make some major changes… get on board with Rob, he’ll rock ya into shape!

Sincerely,
